Animals flowers plants are the protagonists of Gucci's new interactive and visionary space
A new Garden blooms in town
On January 9th, during the Pitti Uomo week, Gucci inaugurated the new space Gucci Garden inside the ancient Palazzo della Mercanzia in Florence. A brand new concept from the previous conventional Museum, now the Maison reinvents it as a living, collaborative and creative space, where to express the aesthetics in perennial evolution and the philosophy of the creative director Alessandro Michele.
To be very honest, it took for me more than one visit to be “linked” into this imaginative space ... better to browse it during midweek days and get lost into this dynamic and interactive experience ! "The garden is real, but it belongs above all to the sphere of the imaginary, populated as it is of plants and animals; like the serpent, which insinuates itself everywhere and which, in a certain sense, symbolizes a perpetual beginning and a perpetual return ".. says Alessandro Michele. At the main floor Michelin's starred chef Massimo Bottura has been invited to open a small restaurant , the Gucci Osteria.
For the Gucci Garden, the chef has created an original menu inspired by his travels but based on Italian gastronomy.
Then the sales space is feauturing unique items designed exclusively for the Gucci Garden- footwear, bags, clothes- not sold in other Gucci stores. So this make the visit even more special for any Fashion lovers !
Adorable (althought very pricy.. sigh!) its Decor collection : books, magazines and a series of gift items such as maps of Florence, postcards, greeting cards, stationery and glamorous Deco printed fabricshoppers which can be worn morning to night !
For my Shopping&Lifestyle Experiences I like to consider Gucci Garden an icon of our Fashion History , a very personal vision to express the passion for manual work and craftsmanship that recalls the mercantile origins of the building and the history of artisan excellence of the Maison.
